Memorial Day Bike Ride

I wanted to do a bike ride with the kids this weekend. The past few days have been glorious weather (and I don't use that word lightly). It has been a really long winter and a drissly cold spring. It makes you appreciate those days that are so perfect like this day.

Our neighbors the Segats joined our undertaking.

A bike ride sounds like a simple activity right? Not so much. I had to borrow a bunch of equipment because we were not equiped for a full family bike ride. Meili and Quin are not old enough to peddle on their own so we borrowed a bike trailer for Quin and an attachment for Meili that allowed her to peddle behind me. Then we had to pick up a trailer to get all of our bikes to a place to ride.

Are we ever going to leave????
We finaly got on the trail and had a fun time. We stopped and had hamburgers for lunch. All the work was worth it (in my opinion)!

Gran and Grumpy come to visit

When we first arrived at Alcai Beach we were not sure how Quin would react to the sand and water as he hates to be "dirty" and does not like wet clothes. He cried, but...

After some convincing he jumped into the fun.

Grumpy helped the kids bury Camden and Jackson.

The beach was really busy but we had a great time (and Chris found an amazing parking spot). Thanks Gran and Grumpy for coming to visit!

Say no to crack... but we love that smile!

Despite having attended University of Washington during Chris' MBA,
we have never been down to see the UW Quad during
cherry blossom season.

What: Yoshino cherry trees
Moved to campus: 1964
Estimated age: 58-68 or older
Life expectancy: 60-100 years

So, we made the trek as a family this year and had a wonderful time.

The trees were beautiful and the kids had a fun time climbing them

The perfect way to kick off Spring
(although it has not arrived quite yet 54 degrees on Thursday!)
